Hey guys, just a quick updates from the ongoing battles in the eBook reader market.
The LA Times Blog reported that staring at your iPad for long periods of time can mess up your sleep cycles and cause a certain degree of insomnia. This strengthens the fact that if you're going to buy a device mainly for reading eBooks you're probably better off with the Kindle or Nook.
The Nook is definitely on the rise as analysts speculate that more Nooks where shipped on March 2010 than Kindles. This of course only relates to shipments and not sales but it's definitely marking a change in the eBook reader market since for the first time since 2007 the Kindle has a worth adversary.
Finally, Amazon decided to launch a software update to the Kindle 2 and Kindle DX which will be available late May. This update includes several cool features such as social network integration with Facebook and Twitter, Zoom option on PDFs (extremely critical), better book origanization options and the ability to lock your Kindle with a password. I don't believe that this is a coincidence - releasing this update just as things are heating up.
Something tells me things are going to get interesting.....
Matt.
