eReaders started out 25 years ago !??!

Hey Internet.

Not much happened since our last weekly update but it seems that the eBook market is slowly evolving. This is mainly due to the fact the Google announced that they are launching their online eBook store "Google Editions" this summer which bring another competitor into the arena - as if we didn't have enough already.

iPad prevents sleeping, Nook is on the rise and Amazon's feeling the heat....

Hey guys, just a quick updates from the ongoing battles in the eBook reader market.

The LA Times Blog reported that staring at your iPad for long periods of time can mess up your sleep cycles and cause a certain degree of insomnia. This strengthens the fact that if you're going to buy a device mainly for reading eBooks you're probably better off with the Kindle or Nook.

The eBook reader market is sizzling!!!

The release of the Apple iPad has definitely made a great impact on the eBook reader market. On April 25th the two leading brands in the eBook reader market Amazon and Barnes and Noble decided that they are putting up a fight and responded in their own way. Barnes and Noble released a major software update that includes speeding up their eBook reader, integrating a web browser and much more. You can read about the software update by clicking this link.

The iPad is ruining the eBook reader market ???

Ever since the iPad came out in the beginning of April I hear people all around me talking about how the iPad is going to ruin the eBook reader market. Now it kind of makes sense that such an amazing device that costs so little will have such a great big impact on this market. But is the iPad actually an eReader ? Does it have the same qualities all other eReaders poses in order to make reading off them so easy and enjoyable ?

Back from our vacation

I know it’s been a long time since you’ve heard from me and I’m sorry. I just went on a two months vacation to get some fresh air so to speak.

A rough week for the folks at Amazon

I guess things could be better at Amazon. If you take a look at the last week the internet giant already had to deal with 2 major issues:

1. On a somewhat rude move, Amazon decided to delete 2 books by George Orwell of any user who has bought them. They did this using the 3G wireless that connects the Kindle to the internet. This was done because it came to Amazon’s notice that the publisher of these books on Amazon lacked the book rights.

Customer eBook reader reviews

Hey everyone. After finishing last month’s “win a Kindle DX” contest, I wanted to share with you some of the great reviews about eBook reader we got as entries. These are all reviews from our site’s visitors which own an eBook reader.

Today we will post Donald Wallbaum’s article about eBook readers, which is genius written in my opinion:

Amazon Kindle 2’s price has dropped by $60!

OK, this was unexpected. Earlier today Amazon changed the stated price on website for the Amazon Kindle to $299. This is a $60 discount from the original price which was $359. I must to say that this is an extremely welcomed changed and in my opinion puts the Kindle 2 as the “best value for money eBook reader” on the market today.

Using eBook readers to study for exams

Hey everyone it’s Chris Jordan here.

I let Matt have the day off because I wanted to share with you my latest experience with my eBook reader.

You see I am currently in the middle of my exams period, I am studying Business Administration. This Wednesday I have a really big test coming up in statistics and I thought to myself “Why not prepare for the test using my eBook reader ?”

So I downloaded all of the class summeries into my eReader and also some of the sample tests and started to study.

Happy independence day
